20 hp Merc, probably late 80's vintage, has been stored outside with engine in down position, probably since new. Tilt tube badly rusted, it takes two grown men to tilt the engine. I'm looking for tips on how to remove the tube - is it threaded through the transom bracket at one end or is it dsisgned to slide out? No amount of grease or tri-flow seems to make any improvement.
