20" Shaft vs 25" shaft

My current motor has a 20" shaft I need to repower and found the same motor with a 25" shaft. What kind of problems might I encounter?

If you use a jack plate you can use the 25" engine.

JMHO, but find the correct shaft length mtr. Less problems and less expense.

If you are considering just slapping the longer motor onto the same transom as the shorter one, forget it. Bad idea. Lousy performance, excessive spray, excessive fuel consumption, to name a few.

Can you say "one hung low"? Why not swap powerheads?
