i noticed a problem with my motor today (1979 200 evinrude on a 19' Center console) that i havent noticed before..if i try to go in reverse at more than an idle, the motor will stall, if i try to give it throttle beyond an idle speed (in reverse), it acts like it bogs then dies like it wont pickup enough to really pull the boat backwards...also tried to drive the boat on the trailer today and it did the same thing in forward but not as bad...it tried but acted like it wouldnt "pickup" and go...i had the bunk on the trailer about 3/4 in the water
but when your out on the water with the boat, it has plenty of power, soon as you push the throttle the boat goes and comes out of the hole perfect when taking off..just doesnt have the power driving on the trailer or when in reverse...i had to pull my anchor up, it was stuck today and it would barely tighten the anchor rope before stalling... the compression numbers are all in the mid 90's, timming is right but maybe it needs a link and sync ??any help is greatly appreciated...thanks
