I just bought another ranger this one has a 1993 optimax 200 on it . It runs great real strong but does seem to make the boat a little loose. The boat is rated for a 175 hp max. I have a 1999 150 optimax on my other ranger and it handles nice.Iwas thinking about selling the 200 hp and putting the 150 on the 363v. this is the boat Im going to keep. I have a problem taking the big motor off because its BIG AND IT LOOKS COOL however I think the 150 would make the boat drive alot better and only loose a couple miles an hour. Any suggestions?

I would change it as exceeding the maximum rated HP is never a good idea.
The reason your boat is loose or squirley is because of the extra weight on the back and too much HP. Remember lawyers love this type of thing if an accident happens, even if it's not your fault.
