200 hp optimax with sportjet

does anybody know anything about the optimax with the sportjet, i'm thinking bout buyin a new boat and want it for all around use. found willie boats use's them and there boasting 140 mile range at 45 mph with 42 gal tank and 210 mile range at 25 mph. any troubles with eng or sportjet<br />is this bad fuel milage as compared to an outboard with a prop - i think it's quite a bit better than an inboard with a jet unit how bout some feed back.<br />any input would be greatly appreated<br /><br />dgassy

I would look into the accuracy of those claims. Jets are usually less efficient than standard prop motors. The fuel mileage cited also seems a bit high for a propeler driven 200HP Outboard. 140 miles at 45MPH on a 42 gal tank is 13.5 GPH. I would expect fuel burned to be closer to 20 gal/hour, with that motor.<br /><br />PS I hope the efficiency claims are accurate.
