I'm installing the '00 200HPDI I just bought and have a question about one of the plugs coming off the engine wiring harness. It's a 4-wire plug on the starboard side which the Yamaha Service Manual wiring diagram labels as "Option Port". The wire colors are Y, Y/R, Blk/R and G/R. The manual doesn't offer any further description or identification. I have everything else already hooked up, incl steering, main power and ground, shift/throttle linkages, trim, tach, oil pump and ignition. The engine starts and runs well. Can anyone help me identify the wires in this "Option Port"? Thanks, John

OK, I think the Blk/R and the G/R operate the oil warning light on the tach. I'm guessing the Y/R and Y wires drive the low voltage and overheat warning indicators on the digital speedo gauge. Rodbolt, Ray, any help here? Thanks, John

Re: 200 HPDI Wiring

It's a 2000 Z200TXRY. I hooked up the Blk/R and G/R as above. Left the other two unconnected since I only have the one gauge installed, the tach (6Y5-83500-T2-00). I got the speedo assy (6Y5-83500-S4-00) with the motor, but don't plan on installing it since I don't think I need it (do I?). Anyway, took it out for a 140NM test run last Sat and it did great. Does it look like I have all the sensors and warnings in operation with this setup, or should I keep working? Thanks, John
