1994 Mercury OB. will not go over 2000 rpms in the water. Runs fine on hose. Spark plugs look wet. Runs great now at idle. Put in new diaphram, dunked carbs, cleaned tank, running on 6 gallon tank now. Decarbed with sea foam. Push in choke it wants to stall. The ball seems kind of soft and while pumping it seems to run better but cannot seem to get ball hard on my 6 gallon tank, The hose clamp was not overly tight at the fitting, it was on its last turn on the worm drive. Did compression check 95 to 105 all the way even. Is there some plug that could be open when someone disconnected the oil injection? Any ideas here? reeds? Thanks.

This is a reply from MERCMAn on a VRO search, maybe you can get him in on your problem for help in finding a solution. He had another comment on a differnt post but same type of problem, something about a wiring problem. Do a search on VRO and read the posts. Re: 200 mercury carbbed problems still

Hi, I'm going to check the compression again after decarbing. My manual does not say what the compression should be just that it should be equal on this engine. But I agree 125 should be good. I will check the oil input line to make sure its plugged. It runs fine in the drive way untill its under a load in the water the water. I noticed when I took the fuel pump apart there was a black plastic piece. The new pump kit only had a clear plastic piece. I replaced that with the clear one. Is that correct or was I supposed to leave the black plastic piece in there and add the clear one? Thanks in advance.
