I have twin 200 Ficht Directs. The port engine quit running, and the ports on th ECU were clogged with corrosion. After unclogging them, the boat ran for about 15 minutes and the port engine suddenly shut down. It was very hot..the ECU, block, flywheel. Etc. When the key is turned on, it runs through it's self test, then all 3 lights light up.... CHECK ENGINE...LOW OIL....HOT. ...and obviously would not start. After cooling down for about an hour, it would start up, and do the same thing all over. Now, after sitting for a couple of days, when I turn the key on to let it go through its system check, the 3 check engine lights come on immeadiately. Now, sometimes it starts, and sometimes it doesn't.
When we hooked the computer up to it to check it, it says COMMUNICATION WITH THE ECU WAS NOT SUCCESFUL...CHECK THE VOLTAGE...ETC... and again, it would not start.
Does this sound like the ECU or the printed circuit board? Pulled the T-stats...they looked fine. Any help would be approeciated.
