2000 225HO Johnson trim troubles

I have replaced both relays.. the trim unit wants to either NOT run or trim up ok ... and then try to trim both ways (just shakes like *&$9) with no change, the relays get REAL HOT.. sometimes it wants to run constantly..going either up or down? I have been towed in once and trolled in once!! The big motor would not crank becasue of the power drain when the trim was stuck on!
Going to get another set of relays tomorrow.?.?.?.

check the connections on each wire to relay. check to make sure your toggle is not bad that you push to raise lower. just the other day mine quit. turned out the wires from that relay box down to the pump had a bread and was grounded out.

all three switches are good.. all wires are making connections...

why don't you try direct wiring the motor and see if it is sucking down too much juice.

you solve problems by divide and conquer. first step is to divide motor from wiring. then relay from wiring. etc etc.
