I look at the parts diagrams for this unit and find nothing in the way of a backflow exhaust shutter. It may well be in the bellow but at 50 bucks I doubt it is.Is Volvo really throwing us between a steep ramp or following sea and a seized engine?

Don,

I have had an issue when the kill switch operated as I fell over whilst cruising. Water entered the engine up the exhausts. I chased this up via the forum and in the end direct with volvo. The static line is high enough and in the end it came down to it is what it is. But I still think it is a potentially dangerous situation that the kill switch once activated can disable the motor. I always carry spare plugs and it has happened a second time but is easy to fix.

Regards

Chris

I hav'nt seen this either over the years but this year the lakes are really low so the ramps are steep and one boatbuilder that should use taller risers but does'nt.In all I've 3 in the shop this season, one that hydroed and took out valves. It can be a quick fix if you can get to the plugs and purge the cylinders but thats not always that easy. You get an engine that has steeped in saltwater all weekend waiting for my patience and it becomes a not good situation.I hope we're not seeing a trend.
