2000 5.7 Bravo3 Flushing impeller bits

Raw water cooled. Impeller self destructed - missing pieces. Can I flush power steering cooler by running water thru hose that attaches to thermostat housing and runs back to power steering cooler?

Ayuh,... Sure,.... Just make sure ya got a hose off so the bits can get outa the system,...

Thanks Bondo, yea I've got the water pump off with the two hoses hanging in the bilge. I've got to take the thermostat housing off as well and look for bits in it and around the thermostat. When I took off the hose from the power steering cooler, a piece of impeller was inside the thermostat housing - I expect more. The impeller really disintegrated.
