Thanks for the comeback. He took the motor back to the shop and they found a burnt control module.(I think that's what the name of the part was. This mechanic said the screws on the advance had not been touched,so it was a factory screw up. I guess the timing was to be set at +12 degrees and it was set the opposite way so he was actually 24 degrees out. (or vice versa). The mechanic said that was his problem. I'm gonna post this as a new topic to see if Johnson will go good for the money he has put into the diagnosis of this problem with statements from his mechanic.
