2000 80hp yamaha 4 stroke pulling

This motor has 2 small steel plates with holes in them--1 in the front of the flywheel and 1 behind it--will these hold for lifting the motor??? They look pretty small and mounting on the plates look pretty weak for lifting..thanks

yep, thats why they are there.
make sure your hook openings face AWAY from the flywheel so the hook cannot contact the ring gear.
