I just bought a 2000 Chaparral 216 SSI and have a question on the depth finder. If I am in deep water it works fine, when I get below 10 feet it beeps and just reads shallow. When I am in water less than 10' is when I need it to read the actual depth.

Is there a setting I need to adjust?

Thanks

I don't know about that model, but many (most?) depth finders allow you to choose or set the depth for the shallow alert.

I am fine with the alarm sounding at 10 feet. It is the fact that the actual depth numbers disappear. The "shallow" wording is just in small font below where the numbers should be. It would be nice to know if I was in 8 feet or 3 feet.
