Ok I've decided to pull my boat out this winter and park it at my house, I was able to pick up a Venture VABT12625 trailer (triple axle weight capacity 12625 lbs) the chaparral dry weight is at 9800lbs the actual size of the boat is 29'2"

Just want to make sure my dually is capable of pulling my boat about 15-20 Miles to my house. Please let me give me some tips and advise of towing a 10ft beam boat.

I've looked on the Net and there are so many different post of how much weight a dually can pull.

I've towed my 89 regal ambassador 250 all over, so I have some experience in towing.

Once again many thanks in advance

That dually will laugh at that load!

I pull a fully loaded 38' fifth wheel AND a jeep on a towbar behind it at up to 80 mph 1000 miles one way regularly .... My total weight is about 32000 lbs.

My truck is a 99 f-350 crewcab dually w a 7.3 with 340,000 miles and counting.

You want your brakes in perfect condition and good working trailer brakes.

Look at the hitch on the truck... It likely isn't rated for the weight of the boat and trailer..

You have to look at the "weight carrying" capacity and not the rating for a WDH.

I put a Reese Titan hitch on my truck... Cost about $450 (installation not included) but it's MUCH stronger than the puny factory hitch.

I also have air bags but you'll be fine without them...

As for a 10' beam... It's a non issue except for meeting other big or wide vehicles on very narrow roads... It's ONLY 12" wider than your rear fenders on each side ......

Watch for trees and slow way down to meet a semi on a very narrow road but otherwise don't sweat it.... If your rear dual is 12" from the dotted line you are on your side of the road.

Someonthewater - thank you for the quick response, that's what I thought about the weight capacity, I see these f350 pulling 3 car haulers all over.

thanks for the tip on the hitch will definetly look at it and upgrade it if need be, probably will have to be upgrades since last year I had to upgrade my trans cooler pulling my ambassador.
