2000 Chevy Express Van Brake Lights

When I turn on the headlights or parking lights and step on the brakes the back brake kights go out but the third brake light works properly. Any idea why?

You need to replace the taillight harness, the ground connection inside the light socket burns out.

Dormanproducts makes a replacement harness available, part# 70015 or 923-015.

This is a common problem.

Thanks for the reply Cobalt. I will check the harness.

This truck is developing more electrical problems every month. First the cruise would shut off when you turned on the headlights. Next the wipers would stop mid pass, turning them off and then on solves that for a month or so then they act up again. Next the blower would shut down, only to work fine for a couple weeks then shut down again. Then yesterday I noticed the problem with the brake lights.
