So here's the deal. I have the above boat that I run in the salt. Last year toward the end of the season I was having some electrical issues. Nav lights stopped working, then would get brighter/dim while on. I went to a dealer and had a horrible experience. They tried to bill me close to $1200 to fix it!!

I just got her into the garage and now it seems like the nav lights, vhf, horn, and sounder aren't working. So I'm thinking maybe rewiring the whole boat would be the way to go based on its age, and again, that I run it in the salt.

Problem is I have no clue/confidience in doing electrical work. Is there a book perhaps out there that's specific to the boat and this project?

Also, this boat has what seem like older style fuses...would it make sense to use different fuses/switches?

Any help is appreciated.

The first thing I would do is clean all the connections. Take them apart and clean with a wire brush.
Pull the fuses out of the holders and clean the ends or just replace them, they are not that expensive. Make sure you clean the battery terminals.
