2000 hours on a DF250

I am looking at a very well maintained 2004 DF250.
It has close to 2,000 (commercial) hrs on it.
It is off the boat but can be started.
I have not checked the compression yet, but I will.
Is there any other things I should look at with this motor ?
How many HRS are these engines good for ?

If it's a freshwater motor then check it out and decide, but if it's got 2000 hours of saltwater use on it then I'd be pretty darn skeptical because of internal corrosion. Good Luck!
