Got a question for some seasoned boaters. This was my first boat purchased last week. I took it out to the lake and pulled away from the dock an excited man. I trimmed the motor all the way down and dropped the throttle about halfway. As the boat began planing out It started hopping up and down. I believe you call this porposing. I backed off the throttle and trimmed the motor slightly up. I tried again... this time as the boat started planing it started leaning to the left, so drastically that it felt like it was going to flip over! I backed off again. This time I trimmed the motor to a little below midway. I dropped the throttle again and it planed out and ran almost normal, with the exception of a port lean. I thought weight distribution but that wasn't it. then i thought the motor needed to be trimmed up some more but it was almost midway and i didn't think it should go any higher. Any help would be greatly appreciated. It's a 2000 Javelin 18F/S Venom with a Johnson 2 stroke 115. The motor does have a hydrofoil fin on it.
