2000 johnson 175 oil injection

i have a 2000 johnson 175. i replaced the plastic coupling for the gas line and oil line on the motor. tried to pump ball on oil line but it is hard and there is no oil in line. does the oil line need to be primed or bled? if so, how is this done.

Yes, you're on the right track, purge the line.

Disconnect the oil line, pump the bulb until it starts to come out the end, wipe it clean and connect.
Its adviseable to run on pre-mix until you can see its obviously drawing oil.
