The new 25 hp Johnson I bought in summer '02 has coughed/sneezed at idle since the day it was first run. Even at speeds above idle, though not at full speed. Seems to be a chronic trouble for 2-stroke outboards, though the 1995 15 hp Mercury this motor replaces never exhibited this problem.<br />Is this a known glitch in 2-strokes in general? Is there a customary quick answer to fix it, or is a warranty trip to the dealer who sold it to me in order? I spend much time in a tree and stump-clogged river and it has become supremely irritating for the motor to sneeze and quit at a moment when it's needed most.<br />Any ideas?
