My Sea Ray 230 signature started stalling last weekend after about 10 minutes of use and will not restart. After the first time this happened I replaced the Idle air control motor, water / fuel separator filter and coil but still am experiencing the issue. I looked at the fuel from the filter and there was no sign of water whatsoever so this doesn't look to be fuel related. Other than than, I really am not sure what else to look at as the problem is pretty consistent and repeats when the engine is warm. The boat has a 2000 5.7 liter EFI engine with a Bravo 3 out drive and only about 230 hours on the engine. Any suggestions or feedback would be helpful. Thank you

Hi there, Do you believe this to be no spark related? If so, you may have an issue with your ignition sensor found under the distributor cap. http://www.boatfix.com/merc/bullet/99/99_04.PDF

On your next boating trip, have a timing light ready to use. Connect it to your coil wire and while cranking the engine over look for the light to flash consistently. Then check each plug wire for consistency.

I wouldn't think it to be spark related as it has started consistently and ran fine until reaching a normal operating temperature. Additionally, the engine was fully tuned in april with plugs, rotor and cap replaced. Is the sensor typically replaced with the cap? Open to anything at this point so appreciate the assistance.

The sensor is not really a preventive maintenance item but they do have a tendency to fail at unusual times either due to heat, corrosion, voltage spikes, etc. etc. And the symptoms can very. Is the engine compartment well vented? Here is some info about fuel vapor lock but usually vapor lock in not a symptom of stalling just more of a starting problem.
