Posted earlier about swapping a newer vintage 350 into my 79 Sea Ray. I may have found a 2000 complete Mercruiser motor would the coupler on that mate to the SEI drive or would I have to buy one to fit the SEI drive splines?

Thanks,

Thanks again Bond-O for the quick reply. So all Mercruiser splines are the same and no problem swapping the 79 305 to a 2000 350 Mercruiser if I am understanding you right?

Ayuh,... I said the Splines are the Same...
But,...
The Flywheel Cover,+ Coupler are different on the 2000,+ it will Not attach to a 1979 transom assembley....
You'll need to use the 79 flywheel cover,+ a retrofit coupler...
