I am getting ready to pull my 5 year old triton up to canada, We go every other year, first time for my boat and trailer.. Going to have bearings, seals, new oil replaced next week "oil bath hubs", also looking at new tires, right now running marathons. Right now I am looking at a new set of carlisle 6 plys, good price. Any one running carlisle 6 ply tires?? Any thing else I need to do to trailer before I leave? 05 MMT trailer....Thanks My first post..

check winch strap and safety for any fraying whatsoever check transom straps for same and stick an extra bulb for the trailer lights in the glove box. every stop for gas re-check all straps and lights. 2000 miles is along way to trailer things. i have done such trips and frequent safety checks at each fuel stop is the key to a flawless trip.

a portable electric air pump for refilling tires is nice in the middle of nowhwere as is a spair trailer tire, a jack, and proper tools to go with.

Good ideas. Also take a grease gun and give the bearings a shot of grease every few stops. I trailered my boat 1500 miles and did not have any problems.

Re: 2000 mile trip

Oil Bath Hubs were made for long distance trailering (my opinion). I moved my boat across the country and learned that new tires are key. I had two blow outs on the old tires and it frazzled my nerves. Almost turned around and went back. Once I had the new tires, everything went smoothly.
I had two mounted spares, hydraulic jack and tools. Every fuel stop, rest stop and nightly stop I inspected everything. No problems beyond the tires. No grease to worry about with the Oil Bath Hubs.:)

Don't blame us though, we're just making sure you don't have any problems getting back home. ;)
What part of the country are you visiting?
