I have a 14' Nova Jon with a 25 HP Nissan 2 Stroke and my question is what is the best overall prop to use if your going to buy a new one. I don't know what RPMs I'm running (no tach) but my speed is about 24-26 mph according to my gps. Any suggestions. I beleive the manual calls for a
10 x 13 for a short shaft.

You shouldn't make any prop changes without a tach.
Improper prop selection could result in poor performance/economy,
maintainance problems and premature engine failure.A tiny tach is reasonable, easy to install and will work on any similar motor without regard to stator poles. If no tach simply stick with what you have.

A Tiny Tach should be here today or tomorrow. I will check it then.

Steelespike, I've installed my tiny tach and at WOT it was turning 5610 RPM's.

Now if I were to buy a new prop what would you suggest?

I believe your rpm range is 4800-5500, so if you are in fact running the 10x13 you should go up to at least a 10x14 aluminum.

Changing to a stainless would also help get your RPM's down.

We need to establish what prop you are running.Don't assume that it is a 10 X 13 check for the size on the barrel or under the prop nut.
As suggested by prop md at 5610 you will need to increase pitch an inch
to lose about 200 rpm.probably would give a little boost in mph.

Now that you have a tach and you know the WOT rpm is 5610 and max recommended rpm is 5500, if it were mine I wouldn't change a thing. If you are making these tests with a light load and then add a body or two to the boat the rpm will be pulled below 5500. Prop it for 5500 and with the same load you may end up "over propped". With a light load you can watch the tach and throttle back just a tad if 5600 bothers you -- although it shouldn't.
