Definitely, most idle speed screws are vertical or near vertical.

Assuming you have an NSF5A2. Year is unimportant. Yes, the idle stop is the only exposed screw on the carb. To adjust it correctly, you should have a shop tach and the factory service manual. After fully warmed up, specs are 1100 in gear, 1300 in N. Any slower, and it may stall when going into gear; faster, and it will slam into gear.
