Any owners of Regal 2000s wiht the 4.3 mpi or gxi- do you feel that you should have gotten the 5.0 mpi or gxi???
I'm currently looking hard at this boat, the test ride in a little pond yeilded uninspiring engine performance and an unexpected amount of ventillation. Other than that I really like this boat and company, though just a little pricey compared to say Four Winns and maybe Chapparal.

Feedback??

Also- have any of you had problems with near-swamping through the transom walk thru?? Looks possible, but couldn't get much wash in by myself and didn't have other boat wakes to work with.

Can't help you with the motor. I have the Volvo 5.7GiSX in mine so I don't have any issues with the power. I top out in the mid 50s with 3 people and 42 gals of fuel. In regards to the transom entry, it sure makes it easier to get in and out of the boat. My wife loves it. If you stop rapidly yes some water will come into the boat if you don't have the back gate closed. What I have found is just as the wave comes up to the stern I give it a little gas. I have not gotten any water in the boat after I started doing this. I am very happy with the boat and the only warranty issue I have is a carpet snap that was not installed properly.

If you are stoipping hard enough to get water over the transom, it's likely going up the exhaust and into the manifolds as well. I can tell you from recent experince that this is a bad thing... Best bet is to slow down gradually and avoid water over the transom or in the engine.
