Hi everyone,
I'm new to the site and fairly new to boat ownership. Sorry for the avatar and lack of boat pics.
I just purchased a Rinker an was wondering if i could get some feedback. I keep hearing great value but was wondering if anyone had some feedback on rough water characteristics. I would do most of my boating in Lake Simcoe which can get rough some times and was wondering what to expect. What sort of top speeds should i expect to see? My brother's boat goes 45 so anything over that would be a plus.
I need to be able to trailer it so i could not go larger than 23ft. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Great site.

mnmlexus, I don't know where your lake is or even what state you're in but I can tell you from experience that your 232 will handle the rough water pretty well. I have a 1996 232 with a 350 LX, not as much hp as yours and I can hit upper 40s on the GPS so you should be able to top 50 mph. We keep looking to upgrade but haven't seen anything as roomy and versatile as our 232. Feel free to ask any other questions. Have fun. We're waiting for the water to thaw out here in Wisconsin. Thanks for the info. I live in Ontario Canada and most of my boating is done on Lake Simcoe. I gets rough from time to time 2-3 footers but it's rarely like glass.
From wht i have been reading Rinker is best for value and i love the layout. I do need to trailer for a short distance so i thought 23 was as big as i could go and still trailer fairly easily.
Looking forward to the thaw to try out the boat. Thanks again for the reply.

I have read that the Bravo3 drive is the hottest running outdrive that Merc has. Some recommend to install an outdrive cooler to help. Can anyone confirm if this is really required. I boat in Ontario Canada and water temps up here are fairly cool.
Any input would be great.

I have the same boat on Lake Michigan, can be very choppy like Lake Simcoe. The boat handles well in swells, but in chop the boat tends to be bounced around....I do not have trim tabs, which would help, but at a grand, I can deal with slower speeds in chop. On flat seas with 3/4 tank gas 2 people, my boat will hit 57mph with a gps, spedometer indicates above 60mph.

Wow, much higher mph than i thought. I would be happy to see 50mph on gps.
I will be taking out for the first time this weekend and i can't wait. Anything that i should beware of? Everything that i have heard about these boats has been good, but i thought i would ask.
thanks for the response!:)
