I think i broke something.I have a 06 bayliner 175 witha 3.0 carb alpha1 gen 2.I was runnig fine at about 28 mph when all of a sudden the boat felt like it hit ground motor raced and boat just stopped.I was it 18 ft of water.Pulled back on it then tried to put it back in gear and would only do about 2mph.It was the longest 8 mile ride home i have ever had.Any ideas where to start would be great.

Thanks,
Bob

Ayuh,....

Considering the fact you made it the 8 miles without Overheating the motor,....

It must be a Spun Prop Hub....

I am with Bondo.
first thing to do is remove the prop and inspect the hub.
I have seen a few coupler failures that actually did propel the hull at idle speeds and did not overheat.
