2000 Sea Hunt 175 escape sending unit repair

I have brought this Escape 175 late December and gage worked till it reach 1/4 tank when it ran out of gas in 115hp Yamaha. It wasn't a good experience being 3 mile for boat dock and already used a 3gal extra tank. Still I have to resolve the problem and determine the sending unit need to be repaired. Now where can I find the right one is the issue. Thanks in advance...

first, clean all the contacts between the gauge and sending unit. many times, corrosion will add resistance to the signal, therefore skewing the gauge

then if that doesnt resolve it, pull the sender and look for signs of damage.
