Well this is my first trophy its a 2000 2352 T top. It has 152 hrs on it. My question is does anybody now if there are any issues with theese years. I got the boat for a really good deal. When i bought it, it came from a repo and a auction. The boat is in fantastic shape all around. I took the boat for a ride before i bought it. The Gimble bearing made no noise. It never ran hot. 165 to 170 and stayed there even at wot. Even at 5500 for a good 10 min run. Now im not new to boating or boat motors or outdrives, I used to work at a boat dealer. What are the main concerns with a 2000, Some one in another forum said that they didnt have stringers but that doesnt make sense. Any info would be great, Thanks to all , good luck with your trophy.

Re: 2000 Trophy Boat questions

From all I've read, the 2000 to 2003 were considered the best years. You have the newer hull and 2000 was the year they put in the fiberglass stringers and green board transom. I have a 97, which has the newer hull, but uses the wooden stringers and transom.

Another important thing to check is the thru-hull drains going out the transom. The older boats had thin PVC thru-hulls, which could crack due to sun damage or winter freeze damage. This and week bilge pumps has sent a few trophies to the bottom. So, check/upgrade your bilge pumps (forward and back) and replace the thru hulls if they're PVC>

My only other issue has been that the hatches (all three) are leaking into the cabin. Also, it appears that rain water can come in past the (upturned) instruments.

I have also noticed besides the splash well drains, is the anchor locker drain. Check and make sure that hole drilled is sealed properly. On my 1991 they did not and the holes goes through plywood. The transom drain also was a potential source for wet transoms.
