2000 Wellcraft 180 Fisherman

I looked at one of these as my next potential purchase.
It has a Johnson 140 but it says OMC on it as well, should I be concerned?
Any thoughts on the boat itself would be great as well, thanks.

OMC is the manufacturer. Johnson is the model. OMC also makes Evinrude

Ok, any known reliability problems with this motor?
Anyone know if Wellcraft was using wood free construction in 2000?

I have a 2000 180 fisherman. There is some wood in the construction, but so far mine is still in good shape.

The boat is "wet" and I don't mean that when running. The back seat hatches are not water tight so everytime you wash the boat the wiring gets soaked.

I have a 115 Johnson on mine and it is 'slightly' underpowered but runs great once on plane. Your 140 should do fine!

it's a quality boat with a good engine; unless it looks extremely neglected I wouldn't worry about "wood free."
