I got this wave runner assembled after the engine rebuilt. Bought it from a fellow with the engine completely taken apart in 3 boxes. After a couple successful trips to the lake I noticed loss of power and drop in speed from 35-40mph to 10-11. Checked the head nuts, loosened them up, torqued up to spec, since during the assembly I was torquing it approximately by hand feel. Still was intermittently running with loss of power only sometimes getting enough power. Checked power valve cables, adjusted them a little according to the service manual instructions. Then noticed that power valve servo motor was not activating 3 seconds after the engine shutoff and was not returning power valve to closed position. Ran it a couple times manually closing the power valve and every time the engine worked at full power. Tested the servo motor, by directly connecting the corresponding red wire to + terminal of the battery and the other two, grey and black connected together to the negative terminal. No life. Took apart this servo motor, no signs of damage or burned electronic parts. I bought a replacement servo motor, but wonder if I can fix the old one or replace only parts of it.
question is, how could I do that?
