2000Yamaha C60TLRY rectifier/regulator

My new fishfinder with the only voltage readout avaliable is sounding its alarm and showing 16.5+volts. Could I be having a problem with a defective rectifier/regulator? All other eletrical system seem to be working fine.
The alarm sounds at about 50% power. Idle is reading
about 14.0V.

Yes you are having a rect/regu problem. After running the test on that piece of equipt per the Yamaha manuel it show that you need to replace the r/r.
