I have an 01 115 yamaha txrz. My motor runs great most of the day however every now and then while I am running it unexpectedly loses power. I keep the throttle in the same position and within a minute or two the power comes back. I run a 10 micron inline filter on the motor am going to replace it next weekend to see if it makes a differece. I am also running the same fuel (e 10) from last season that was stored with stabil. I am hoping to run out most of the fuel and refill with fresh to see if it is just some stale gas. I am hoping it is just a gas problem but I would appriciate any other thoughts that I might want to investigate to correct the problem. Up to this point my motor has ran flawlessly!

Thanks in advance!

if its a fuel issue due to low quality fuel there is a good chance you will damage a piston before burning off the fuel.}
if tapping the choke while its acting up help,then reduce throttle and limp home. continued running with the throttle open and the engine bogging indicates lean air fuel.
not good.
other than that any ign tests must be done while the engine is acting up.

Thanks

I will pump out the fuel and replace with fresh before I do any damage!
