The SmartCraft SC100 link gauges are not compatible with my motor (link gauges work with 2002 Optimax V6 and newer). Mercury makes a harness to switch from digital to analog gauges. However, I'd lose my SmartCraft monitoring/warning system.
The read-outs using the "Mode" button on my tach and speedo are useless under bright light and even worse when I'm wearing sun glasses. Mercury must have realized their gaff and offered the replacement harness for analog gauges for the 2001 V6. I'll bet that's why link gauges are available for 2002 and later V6 motors.
Has anyone added analog gauges to his 2001 V6 and, if so, how'd you install the senders? I'm especially interested in adding a tilt gauge.
