Ok, Got my prop problem solved. Came back started up the motor, it started and ran. At the dock I moved it forward, then reverse a few times, worked good. Started it up a few more times, fine. Went to start again, and NO Cranking, I dont hear the pump energize either. I still have trim tilt controls with no problem. Any ideas? The Solonoid looks a lil cruddy but I just dont know where to go from here

Check ALL the fuses in your pdp panel.

Re: 2001 250 Ficht No Crank Now

Ok, here is what we found, fuses were good. Looking at the Delay start relay up on top of the motor, the connector appears to have been hot, and the bottom has a goo coming out of the connector, the same for the other longer type relay.

Ran the motor for 20 min at dock, started and stopped it several times. Went to restart it and NOTHING, NO CRANK< the pump didnt energize etc.

When I first posted the problem I had left for about an hour, came back and the motor fired right up. When I noticed the connectors were melted I stopped the motor, was not hot, or anything I swapped out the discolored one with one from the trim/tilt. The relay worked fine in that application.

When the motor stopped again I swapped out the relays and DID NOT WORK. HELP

Did you check the 10amp fuse between the 2 relays?

I have checked that fuse, Was good. after sitting a period it seems to restart then and allow that circuit to work

It appears the electrical connectors at the bottom that plug into the start delay relay and main power relay are melted and have been hot. Ideas?

I hate to say it but I think you have a bad EMM, the SAC (start assist circuit) is in the EMM, this amplifies the system voltage to 40 volts to operate the injectors. Have seen this a time or 2. Keep on looking though I don't want to be the one that steers you in the wrong direction, but if you determine this is the case take it to a BRP dealer and have them order it for you. They can pull the injector coeffcients to order you a new one, you must do this, otherwise it's like redeeming 6 Itunes gift cards.

I have the exact same problem on a 250hp Ficht... Starts , runs, then dies and after that it will not crank... Has this issue been resolved?
