I fish and make short trips of running time about 15min. or so. This only happens in the summertime and not in the winter. In the morning it starts right up. But after I run for a while and then stop for a 1/2 hr. or so and try to start the engine it won't start. No problem in the winter though. It seems as though it is starving for fuel in the summertime. I have to use the neutral switch to start it. It runs great after it starts though. This only happens in warm weather. I have changed the bulb and the fuel connections too. No luck. However after I run for a while and I remove the cowling for 10 mins or so while I'm fishing. I put the cowling back on and it fires right up and runs great. Is there any heat sensors that don't permit it to start when it is warm?

4 stroke. I have heard that it may be the choke solenoid. Whatever that is. I am clueless as to why this only happens in the summer or when the weather is warm.

No choke on this engine, computer adds extry fuel thru the injectors. Check the vent hose from the vapor seperator, no kinks, hose must be free flowing. Should have 500 hour service, check timing belt, valve clearence, compression, replace sparkplugs with orignal type, fuel filters, list is in owners manual. I will look in my manuals and service bulletins. The next time this happens , remove the engine cowling and see if it will start.

I ran it yesterday 80 deg. outside. Ran for 20 mins. anchored and fished for 20 mins. It wouldn't start. After I got it started I removed the cowling and it ran fine all day. Only thing I didn't like was the water spray from the prop hitting the side of the Engine. Runs fine with cowling off. All of the service has been done. It was all completed last Feb. Should I drill some holes in cowling to get some air flow into the engine?
