I have a 2001 19' Bayliner with a Mercruiser 190 hp engine. I have the famous Bayliner EDO cluster panel on the dash board. Everything is integrated....i guess.. Anyway I have two Red wires going to +Pos and 3 black wires going to the -Neg. I also have a yellow wire that appears to be coming from a wiring bus mounted near the battery. Unfortunately I negleated to tire wrap my wires last year and now I am not sure if the Yellow Wire goes to Pos or Neg:confused: Any advice would be greatly appreiated. Have another question about by my bow/Stern light, but I'll ask that in a seperate post. Againg Thanks. Rich

Re: 2001 Bayliner 19' Yellow Wire to Battery Question.

The yellow wire is possibly the station memory wire for your radio. Why you would run that all the way to the battery is a mystery since there is a fuse panel at the helm but then stranger things have been done. The long and short of this is that if you don't know where the yellow wire goes, or what it's for, we can't be of much help. Yellow generally DOES NOT go on the negative terminal of a battery. Black or white wires are ground. Green are bonding wires.

Thanks for the response. I will have to look at the bus (i think that is what its called) and try to determine where this wire originates from. This bus (?) has several wires tied into it and they are ALL yellow so going to be difficult to trace this specific wire without disconnecting all of them. Wiring, you got love 'em...thanks again. If I can get any additional info I will follow up on this post. Rich
