hello,

i have a 2001 Evinrude 115 Ficht outboard and having problems w/ the fuel injection.

engine will turn if i hand feed the bulb, once i burn the fuel in the bulb, the engine will shut off <it's dry>

i seems as though fuel does not make it from the tank to the bulb. however, IF i hand pumb the bulb, the fuel will flow only to fill the bulb but then burn the fuel never getting a constant feed.

trouble shooting.
1. i checked all lines from tank to the engine, all appear air tight and hose clamps nice and snug.
2. replaced the bulb
3. located the valve on the engine. when i removed it, there is a "ball/spring" in this valve. the ball appeared to be stuck in 1 position. i knocked it out of that position, WD40'd the spring and reinstalled. after the test run, the fuel would still not feed. i then pulled the valve off again only to find the ball not stuck, but in working order (post my lube job)
4. could this be a problem w/ the fuel pump and if so, what are some tips to troubleshoot a bad pump?
5. is it possible that the valve from the tank, that the fuel connector screws into contains a bad filter, or maybe "clogged" -remember, the fuel feeds fine if i hand pump it.

looking for suggestions.

thanks.
