2001 Evinrude 75 Hp Impeller problem

Hello, I have a 2001 Evinrude E-tec that I changed the impeller on yesterday and the process went fine. I left the shifter in Rev. during the removal and installation process. Now when I go to start the motor and put it in gear, nothing happens. I don't believe the shift shaft is engaged properly. Please help. Thanks, Chris

did you reconnect it under the carbs.

Yes. I pushed the linkage tward the Starboard side and reconnected it under the EFI unit.
