2001 GMC Sierra 2500HD Driver window

So, while following this weird, but monstrous boat last night, my drivers window decided it didn't want to go down anymore. It just kinda makes a grinding noise. Electric window.

Anyone have a good resource, web site, forum for trouble shooting and digging into it?

Doubt I'll get to it until the weekend, but I have a camping/fishing trip planned so I may be attempting repairs at the campground. I really just need to know how to get the door panel off (and I doubt it's as simple as my last truck) so I can see whats up.

sounds like you popped a regulator cable. I thought my old truck did and bought a set of them (still have them in the shop).

Just an FYI, the power drivers window on my 2000 Regal died and I got an awesome deal on and entire new motor/regulator unit on eBay. So check there for the part once you diagnose it.

funny how when 1 goes out more follow. I have an 01 regal also and it popped all 4 within 2 months got the new ones from ebay too

To remove door panel: Remove three screws, one behind lock(pry it out, one to left of inside door handle, one underneath in center. Pry out the inside trim piece that covers the mirror, now push straight on on bottom of door panel.
May have to bump it, don't pull out on it.
