You need to test and determine if you have a weak ignition or a lack of fuel problem.
WARNING
Continued operation with a lack of fuel problem will cause extensive and expensive engine damage.

Search this site for 'Spark Test'

Joe Reeves has posted instructions how to build your own and how to use it to determine an ignition potential.

If the ignition checks out then you must have a fuel problem.

Bobby, That motor likely has a temperature sensor that if it detects an overheat condition, kills spark to 3 cylinders. It also has the shift assist switch that does the same, when you shift from gear to neutral.

You might put a timing light on the motor and see if you have spark to all six cylinders. If one bank of cylinders is not sparking, disconnect the temp sensor wire (there is likely two wires one cor cold start, one for overheat) that goes to the powerpack. If that fixes it, replace the sensor. If not, disconnect the shift assist switch wire to the powerpack.

it also could be clogged high speed jets, on a coil or power pack failing.

When you're running WOT and getting only half power, do you get more power by squeezing the primer bulb or depressing the choke?
