I just had this motor rebuilt and now the dearlership is out of business. Hope you can help.<br />I took the boat out after it had been sitting up for a few months and it cranked good and ran good at low RPM's. After a few trips of just idling around i decided to get it up on plane and it ran fine at about 3500RPM's for a half to three quarters of a mile and then just shutdown. I cranked it back up with one turn of the key and went back towards the landing, I felt the water coming out and it was still cool so i don't thnk it got hot. I took it back out a few days later and it again went fine at slow speeds but when i got it up onn its pad and ran about 3500 rpm's it went a mile and shut down, cranked right back up and ran but after idling a while, it started wanting to die at low speeds but if you choked it it would keep running so i tried to get up out of the hole and it would not unless you choked it and then it would take off like it was supposed to then try to die. The only way to keep it running was to choke it when it tried to die. After i took it out of the water it hasd alot of gas/oil mixture coming out of the exhaust (around the prop)

For a newly rebuilt motor, it sounds like the cause of the first rebuild was not fixed. It sounds like you have carb problems. Find out which ones and disassemble and clean thoroughly. If you continue to run it like it is, you will be in for another rebuild. Eliminate the carbs and go from there.
