2001 mariah 182 4.3 190hp ...what speed?

i have bought a mariah shabah 182 2001 year with 4.3lx 190hp motor.<br />does anyone have any views on this boat and i would like to know what is the top mph, sorry ....is the 4.3 motor a good choice over the 3.0?(power to weigh ratio.<br />thanks.

I have a 4.3 in a 21 foot fishing it weighs 4500 pounds and still runs 32 mph. Good strong engine.

I have Larson 186 SEI (17' 11") with a 4.3l, volvo SX also 190hp -- runs mid 50's no problem.<br /><br />Also has no problem pulling me out on one ski and I'm 6' 2" @ 230 pounds. Doubt a 3.0 would get me out with out a power prop. Also 3.0 in my same boat would probably run mid 30's. Just a guess. My neighbor has one, so I will ask him.

Mariah was a classy outfit, built here in Benton, Illinois, before it went belly up a couple of years ago. Not sure anyone has picked up the molds, etc.<br /><br />Most I/Os made after 1998 or so will run 50 to 54 mph in the stock setup with a stainless steel prop. You can get more speed with prop experimentation, but hole shot will suffer.<br /><br />Strong engine and plenty of power in that 4.3 for an 18 foot boat.

One other note, unlike Sea Ray, Larson, and others, Mariah put plenty of power in their stock floor model boats----you did not have to purchase "option" motors to get in a comfortable power band with Mariah.<br /><br />They tried to compete with Cobalt, Cobalt won.

I owned a 96 Mariah 190 Shabah. Awesome boat. With a 4.3 I clocked it at 48 mph with 1 passenger on GPS. The speedo was very close to the GPS reading.
