My motor was running fine then out of the blue was hard to start and now it idles really rough and lost about 700 rpm on the top end. I've replaced the plugs with no improvement. Cyclinder #4 looked like it was oil fouled the rest looked like they where burning fine. I did a compression check which yielded 125psi per cyclinder I checked for spark on all cyclinders which checked out fine which know leads me to the carb(s). When I first purchased the boat I had this same type of problem only worse and the diagnose from the mechanic was a clogged needle and seat. I really need the boat going ASAP as I'm on Vacation and the boat shop is backlogged for a month. I was originally thinking #4 Carb was the culprit from the fouled plug but then I read the 125hp motors only idle on the top 2 cyclinders which explains why there the only 2 carbs that have air / fuel mixture screws. How hard is it to pull the carbs off and check the needle and seats??? Does anyone have any recommendations?? Any Help would be greatly appreciated.
