2001 Merc Tracker 50 hp wont run past idle

I have a new to me boat. First time on the water and it will idle fine. when I get to about 1/4 throttle (10mph) it starts to bog down. I can push the choke once and it will start to run fine for a few seconds and then bogs down again. When I do give full throttle it will die. motor has not ran for 1 yr.

Have you tried having someone pump the bulb continuously to see if it'll stay running? It might rule out a fuel pump (or other fuel delivery) issue.

I'd say it's probably junk in the carbs and you'll need to pull the carbs off the intake manifold for servicing.

You should be able to use the carb "gasket" set rather than the "repair" set, as long as your jets and other internal parts are serviceable.

The gasket sets (1 per carb, typically) will contain carb gasket, float gasket, and other consumables you'll need to disassemble/clean/reinstall the carbs.
