I was trying to help out my friend who has a problem with the trim and tilt on his 200 Merc. My friend hasn't used his boat in over 4 months, sad thing isn't it? Anyway before this layup his trim and tilt worked fine. But just recently he tried to trim his motor up, it would neither go up or down. When trying to diagnose the problem I could hear the solenoids clicking. When tracing the wires from the trim motor I could only find 2 wires and when I put a volt meter between the positive terminal of the battery and either one of the other wires comming from the tilt motor I get 12 volts and when I hit the trim switch the voltage goes to 0 volts. Is this normal? Also what is the wiring colors for the trim and tilt system?
