Hi i'm running into problems with cooling system, first thing rpm gauge stop working and the batteries wouldn't charge, had a blown fuse on the upper voltage regulator, replaced upper and lower voltage regulators and rpm gauge works and charging systems works. Now when flushing outboard after useing it i FORGOT to turn hose on and the overheating alarm went of and i turned engine off.I had to replace the water pump base and o-ring,water pump kit and housing, temp sender and alarm sender, put cooler thermostats in(2)pulled cooling diaphragm apart and cleaned and replaced both gaskets. Now you can run the motor at home on ear-muffs and the gauge says 1/4 and with ir gun the heads are 66dec and the other 64.5dec and the water out the indicator hole is 43dec after 5mins of running. When the boat is used at idle gauge will sit at 1/4 all day, putting a few revs on the gauge slowly goes up and up even at full throttle the gauge says hot but the warning alarm doesn't sound and the water out the indicator hole is hot but not over hot and the water is racing out the hole. Can the gauge be tested and how can i test the water out the indicator hole has air in it.
