I have a 01 Regency 22ft Party Barge pontoon with a 3.0 Mercrusier Inboard.. Either looking to sell the pontoon or put a larger motor and 3rd toon under it. Will a 4.3 or 5.0 swap over without to much trouble or just not worth the money and time??
I did it. It can be a HUGE job. You need to measure, and make sure it will fit. You'll need new mounts, Easiest is to find a donor boat for the motor and potentially the outdrive. A boat with what you want in it, a boat that is rotted out you can usually find at cutrate price.
Is it worth it? Probably not. Big job that may require some outside labor. You could sell and purchase what you want and be time ahead.
